NMDOT Announces Upcoming Roadway Reconstruction On NM 30 in Pueblo of Santa Clara

Source: DOT

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) announces upcoming roadway reconstruction on NM 30 from milepost 7.150 to milepost 7.610 in the Pueblo of Santa Clara. Vital Consulting Group, LLC of Albuquerque, New Mexico is the contractor for the project. The NMDOT District Five Espanola Project Office will provide construction management and oversight of the contractor.

The purpose of the project is to reconstruct a ½ mile section of NM 30 and the intersection at Dawn Road, which will include new pavement, curb & gutter, ADA compliant sidewalk, curb ramps and crosswalks, as well as new signal and lighting equipment. Contractor will upgrade the existing concrete box culvert with extensions and add a new barrel to the drainage structure on the Santa Clara Creek.

The traveling public can expect delays on NM 30 throughout the life of the project from March 2017 to October 2017. The contractor will place detour paving adjacent to NM 30 to allow for one lane of travel in each direction at all times. Motorist can use US 84/285 to NM 502 as an alternate route to commute to and from Los Alamos.

The project will include law enforcement to keep traffic from entering Santa Clara Pueblo roads.

Public awareness on traffic impacts will be coordinated with the Santa Clara Pueblo and provided through local radio, newspaper and the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s road conditions website, http://nmroads.com/.
