Del Norte Credit Union Employees Raise $4,510 for Bowl for Kids’ Sake and Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region

Over 50 Credit Union employees bowl at Saturday’s event in Pojoaque

SANTA FE, New Mexico, April 24, 2017—Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), northern New Mexico’s hometown financial cooperative, is proud to announce a contribution of $4,510.00 to Bowl for Kids’ Sake, benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region. All but $500.00 of the sum was raised by employees – from themselves, credit union members and friends. In addition, over 50 credit union staff bowled on Saturday, April 22nd at Pojoaque’s Cities of Gold Lanes.

“I am proud that our employees are so committed to raising funds for this important cause,” says DNCU CEO/President Chuck Valenti. “We are all gratified to be able to participate in contributing to kids’ programs, which is in alignment with our mission to improve lives in northern New Mexico.”

“We love doing these events even though it’s a lot of work,” says employee organizer Samantha Ortiz of th’e Compliance Department.  “Everyone enjoys being creative, coming up with new ways to raise funds, and finally going out to bowl together!” Fundraisers this year included gift baskets, and cupcake and cookie sales.

Big Brothers Big Sisters uses donations from Bowl for Kids’ Sake to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships.
