Roadway reconstruction kicks off on NM 30 in Pueblo of Santa Clara

By New Mexico Department of Transportation

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has begun roadway reconstruction on NM 30 from milepost 7.150 to milepost 7.610 in the Pueblo of Santa Clara.

Starting week of April 17 – 28, 2017, the contactor will begin construction on the west side shoulder of NM 30.  They will be working on earthwork and subgrade activities. Traffic impacts will be minimal during this time.  Motorists are advised to watch for heavy truck traffic turning in and out of the work zone.

Starting week of May 1st, the contractor will begin detour paving and setting wall barrier. Traffic will be shifted to one side of the roadway.   NM 30 will have one lane of travel in each direction at all times.  Key Street will remain OPEN to Santa Clara Pueblo local traffic.  Traffic can expect delays during this time.

Motorist can use US 84/285 to NM 502 as an alternate route to commute to and from Los Alamos.  Vital Consulting Group, LLC out of Albuquerque, New Mexico is the contractor for this project.

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, watch for construction personnel, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.  Updates on this project will be posted on the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s road advisory website, www.nmroads.com
