Bilingual radio station in Santa Fe takes awards for Large Radio Market audience
KSWV Que Suave Radio, 99.9 FM (Santa Fe), 810 AM (Northern New Mexico) is winner of two awards by The New Mexico Broadcaster’s Association for;
- Best Talk Show, Veterans Today, hosted by Chris Abeyta
- Best Website, www.SantaFeToday.com
This is the second year in a row that KSWV won Best Talk Show. Last year Health Para Todos, hosted by Dr. Arturo Gonzales and Larry Martinez, won Best Talk Show. KSWV last year was also awarded Best Social Media Intergration.
Broadcasters from Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennesee, Kentucky and Missouri judged the award entries.
About Chris Abeyta and Veterans Today
Veterans Today broadcasts every Tuesday morning at 8:30am and is hosted by Vietnam Veteran Chris Abeyta. The focus of the talk show is to inform listeners about benefits for Veterans and their families, to discuss Veteran news and policy issues, and to offer gratitude for the men and women that have served in the military. Guests have included dignitaries such as New Mexico National Guard General Andrew Salas, purple heart recipients, war heros and their families.
Mr. Abeyta is also a poet, writer, musician, actor and community educator. He writes songs and poems about his soul and his culture. He is a lifelong resident of Santa Fe and has served on many community boards and commissions. He has a degree from the University of New Mexico and has been recognized with the Mayor’s Excellence Award in Literature and Music.
