Technology to Purify Produced Water to be Showcased at Oil and Gas Industry Meeting

SANTA FE, NM – With fiscal year 2018 underway, State Land Commissioner Aubrey Dunn is inviting New Mexico energy producers, their representatives, and elected officials to the New Mexico State Land Office’s quarterly oil and gas industry outreach meeting.

Highlights of this month’s agenda include further discussion of the commissioner’s efforts to curtail the use of fresh water from the Ogallala aquifer; details concerning the State Land Office’s amnesty program to encourage trespassers to self-report; the oil and gas lease sale nomination process; and an update on the Candidate Conservation Agreement with Assurances.

Participants will also learn about a process to purify produced water to drinking quality standard that could be reused in operations, ranching and farming, and even human consumption. The two companies presenting their respective technologies are M&M Production and Operation Inc. and WEN Corp.

The meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, 9:00 a.m., in the State Land Office’s Morgan Hall, 310 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe.

“This is an opportunity for Land Office staff to discuss new policies and procedures and for our team to address questions and concerns,” said Commissioner Dunn. “We value our lessees and appreciate their feedback.”
