Recruiting Efforts Underway for Newly Formed Friends Group of Navajo Lake State Park

Navajo Dam, NM – The Friends of Navajo Lake State Park are hosting a BBQ and Meet and Greet Monday, September 4, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m. at Navajo Lake State Park Visitor Center.  The BBQ is for residents around Navajo Lake who would like to support the Park and be an active participant in the newly formed Friends Group.
The Friends Group, in partnership with NM State Parks, was formed to enhance the park, engage volunteers and connect people to the land. “A Friends Group is a perfect outlet for people to bring their creative ideas and volunteer their time and services to our state parks,” said Janice Krish, Volunteer Coordinator for NM State Parks.
The Group has some initial event and fundraising plans and is seeking ideas, membership and community involvement. Anyone passionate about Navajo Lake State Park is encouraged to attend. Bring a friend and BBQ will be served!
