EDD Announces New Regional Representatives

Susan (Susie) Russell was hired in September 2017 as a Regional Representative in southeastern New Mexico and based in Roswell.

She comes to the Economic Development Department after five years at the International Law Enforcement Training Academy (ILEA). Susie was a strong component of the original team at ILEA and worked with students from around the world. Prior to her stint at ILEA, Susie worked for more than nine years as the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Chaves County, and for almost two years at the Director of Program at the Roswell Chamber of Commerce. Susie has Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Journalism.

Peter Mitchell is returning to the Economic Development Department (EDD) as a Regional Representative in northern New Mexico. He will be based in Santa Fe.

He previously worked at EDD, serving as Business Development Manager, Director of Economic Development and Executive Director for Space Commercialization positions over a nine-year period. Peter has also more than seven years of other development experience as the Economic Development Director in Albuquerque, Vice President of Business Development of Builder Rewards, LLC, in Texas, and Director of Urban Development at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. Most currently, Peter has been a Legal Assistant at Peter D. White, Attorney at Law. Peter has a master’s degree in International Marketing and Finance.
