Firefighters Receive Holiday Meals from Del Norte Credit Union

Del Norte Credit Union, northern New Mexico’s hometown financial co-op, provided warm holiday meals to many of the area’s on-duty firefighters on Thursday, November 23. Delicious turkey meals with all the trimmings, purchased through an area supermarket as well as a local restaurant, fed seven Santa Fe City fire stations, five Los Alamos County fire stations, Ojo Sarco Volunteer Fire Department as well as Española Fire Rescue.

“This is our way to help make the day a little brighter for these public servants who keep our communities safe, especially since many of them miss their family meals,” says Chuck Valenti, President/CEO of Del Norte Credit Union.  Del Norte CU staff delivered the meals, even though the credit union officially closes for business for the holiday.

“Thank you for taking care of this and providing this meal to the fire department – we greatly appreciate it!” says Derrick Rodriguez, District Fire Chief for Ojo Sarco Volunteer Fire Department.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Del Norte has provided holiday meals to on-duty firefighters—just one way that DNCU improves the lives of others.
