EL FLAMENCO DE SANTA FE Presents Holiday Season

Ronald Roybal Concert Series, Antonio Granjero + Entreflamenco

Santa Fe, NM— 2017 Mayors Arts Award winner and world-renowned Spanish Flamenco dancer Antonio Granjero presents the 2017 December Holiday season at performance venue/tapas restaurant EL FLAMENCO DE SANTA FE along with co-directors, Antonio Hidalgo Paz and array of new artists from Spain and community dance goers. Shows will feature Ronald Roybal Tuesday Concert Series at 7:30pm and Antonio Granjero + Entreflamenco will features Granjero and his company in an all new holiday production, a distinct show from their celebrated summer and fall seasons. Shows run December 15-16, 21-23, 28-31 and January 5-6 at 7:30pm.

Antonio Granjero + Entreflamenco will present the Holiday season of Flamenco performances December 15-16, 21-23 and 28-31. Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets range $25-$40, dinner is available. El Flamenco by Entreflamenco has been selected for the 2017 Mayor’s Arts Award for their outstanding contributions made to the arts and culture in Santa Fe. Entreflamenco was founded by Andalucian-native flamenco dancer Antonio Granjero in 1998 in Madrid. The international company has traveled throughout the Iberian Peninsula, and North and Central America and has made its home in Santa Fe since 2011. Entreflamenco is artistically led by Granjero who was recognized as the “the Baryshnikov of Spanish dance” years ago for his memorable performances with Maria Benitez at the Joyce Theatre in NYC.

Granjero hails from Jerez de la Frontera, the birthplace of Flamenco.  He will be joined by dancer Estefania Ramirez, singer-percussionist Francisco Orozco “Yiyi” (Barcelona, Spain), guitarist Angel Ruiz (Cordoba, Spain) and lighting designer Antonio Hidalgo Paz (Lucena, Spain).  This is an all new full-length dance Flamenco production with original choreographies, new costumes and set design. Granjero has been recognized as the “Baryshinkov of Spanish Dance” his shows are referred to as a “high octane” level performances. This performance will showcase a rich variety of different styles of Traditional Flamenco song and dance completely rooted to their birthplace Andalucia, Southern Spain. The performance will take form in duets and solo interpretations with interludes of musical instrumental themes. The performance is broken into two parts with a brief intermission.

El Flamenco will present “Enchanted Sounds of the Southwest” in collaboration with Ronald Roybal.  Roybal will perform his Native Flute and Spanish Guitar Concert Series on most Tuesdays at 7:30pm, an ongoing series. Director Granjero stated that he is “delighted to include this new addition to the performance space within the cultural events that take place at El Flamenco to enrich and preserve the music and tradition of Santa Fe.” Tickets cost $20 per person, Tapas & drinks are sold separately.
