Santa Fe, NM – Santa Fe High students Brigit Johnson & Laura Quintana were chosen for the National Association for Music Education’s (NAfME) 2017 All-National Honor Ensembles. They joined 609 students from 49 states and territories on November 26-29, 2017, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL to be honored and perform.

Brigit Johnson is a junior at Santa Fe High School. She began playing euphonium in the sixth grade with a private teacher since she already had prior music experience. She played in all-state concert band as the first chair euphonium her freshman and her sophomore years. Johnson credits the help of her teacher, Laura Eberhardt, who helped her every step of the way since the sixth grade. She plays in groups around town such as the Santa Fe Community Band, High Desert Winds, the Youth Symphony, and plays as a drum major alongside Laura Quintana for the Santa Fe High School Demon Pride Band.

Santa Fe High School senior, Laura Quintana, loves art, music, volleyball, and basketball. She has played the flute and been in band since the sixth grade. This will be her fourth year in high school marching band and second year as a drum major. She made District Honor Band the past three years, Southwest Honor Band and All-State last year. As a drum major, she has attended two different drum major camps: one at Northern Arizona University, and one with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in San Antonio, TX. In July, she attended the Texas Tech University Band and Orchestra Camp for a second year. Recently she auditioned and was accepted into a community wind ensemble called High Desert Winds.
