NMDOT Prepares for El Santuario De Chimayo Walk US 84/285 Sweeping Operations

Santa Fe–The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin sweeping operations on US 84/285 from mile marker 165.2 (Alamo Drive North of Santa Fe) to mile marker 189.1 (Stanley Griego Bridge in Espanola). The sweeping operations kicks off NMDOT maintenance crews schedules for cleaning activities and preparation for the annual El Santuario de Chimayo Walk.

Starting Monday, March 19 – 22nd, motorists can expect minor delays from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. at night and from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the day. There will be one lane closures on the US 84/285 northbound and southbound lanes. NMDOT maintenance crews will begin sweeping the northbound lanes and then move to the southbound lanes.

The sweeping operations are scheduled for completion Thursday, March 22nd; weather permitting. NMDOT thanks you for your patience during this time.

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, watch for maintenance personnel in the area; observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.
