The New Mexico Film Office Announces “The Punishment” to film in New Mexico

By N.M. Film Office
New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced that the short “The Punishment” produced by Shot Click Films, LLC will start principal photography at the end of June through early July in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
The production will employ approximately 11 New Mexico crew members and approximately 8 New Mexico actors. In partnership with Studio Institute Southwest, the production will also provide mentorship and on-set experiences to 3 student interns.
Directed by Seth Fuller (“14 Cameras,” “Won’t Let You Go”), UPM/Line produced by Amber LeRae Earls (“Wrecktify,” “I Am That,” “A Bitter Reckoning”) and Executive Produced by Kathy Martinez (“Vanity,” “Danger”).
Starring Andres Segura (“Better Call Saul,” “The Night Shift,” “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot,” “Only The Brave”), Alex Knight (“Legion,” “Enter the Dojo,” “Preacher”), Jodi Lynn Thomas (“Highway,” “Get Shorty,” “Preacher”), Sarah Minnich (“Waco,” “Better Call Saul,” “Godless”) and Jeff Poole (“Better Call Saul,” “Furthest Witness”), “The Punishment” is the story of inmate Randle Kohler’s last hours on death row leading up to his execution. The only human he’s able to communicate with is the prison guard assigned to bring him his last meal. As their conversation develops, we begin to see more and more layers of Kohler’s past and the events that led him to the prison cell. By the end of the film, it’s clear that nothing is what it seems.
