Manzano Mountains State Park Opens

Officials of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, State Parks Division announce that Manzano Mountains State Park, located within the boundaries of the Cibola National Forest, will re-open for use effective Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 8:00 a.m.

Park visitors are reminded that most state parks are still under various types of fire restrictions, and Manzano Mountains State Park is under the following Stage II Fire Restriction:

  • Campfires, charcoal and other open flames are prohibited. Pressurized kerosene, white gas or propane devices with a shut off switch are allowed. Smoking is prohibited except in enclosed RV’s or trailers.

Manzano Mountains State Park is an excellent destination for hiking and camping. Nestled in the wooded foothills of the Manzanos, this park provides a quiet retreat and is a nice family get-away. Wildlife viewing, birding and photography are great activities at the park.
