Black Canyon Campground to close Sept. 24 for the season

By SFNF

Due to necessary maintenance, the Black Canyon Campground on the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest will close Sept. 24 for the season, which ends Oct. 9.

“Repair is needed to restore a faulty underground power line that helps provide electricity and water to the site,” said Sandy Hurlocker, Espanola district ranger.  “If the line can’t be repaired or replaced by next season, our hope is to have generators in place.  Because of the inconvenience to our visitors, we determined it is best to close Black Canyon Campground and issue refunds to those holding reservations from Sept. 24 to Oct. 9.
