NM Women in Film Presents the Power of Story Series

New Mexico Women in Film (NMWIF) is pleased to announce their latest event in partnership with UNM Continuing Education: The Power of Story Series. The second event in this series, “Expect the Unexpected”, will be presented on Sunday, December 2nd at 3pm-6pm at the UNM CE Theater Auditorium located at 1634 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.

What happens when you start a documentary with an idea and premise, yet along the way the story has a power of its own, and shifts and changes? How does “Expect the Unexpected” show up?

Documentary Filmmakers Barbara Bentree and Jilann Spitzmiller will share clips and conversation concerning their recent productions. Barbara will focus on her newest film, David Grusin: Not Enough Timeand the unexpected turns along the way. Jilann Spitzmiller and her co-filmmakers Morgan Capps and Alessandra Khalsa will share shifts they experienced and managed in the producing of Meow Wolf: Origin Story. In this inviting series, Storyteller Host Ramona King will guide us through our afternoon, to consider, ponder, learn and listen to one another.

With our Storyteller host Ramona King and generous documentary filmmakers Barbara Bentree and Jilann Spitzmiller coming to share their ‘expect the unexpected’ stories, this will be an exciting and relevant program, for filmmakers and fans alike”, said Anne Stirling, producer and NMWIF Board Vice President.

The Power of Story: Expect the Unexpected tickets are available for $5 with ID for NMWIF members, students, and Osher members. General admission tickets are available for $10.
