NORTHERN NEW MEXICO COLLEGE Announces new sUAS (Drone) Technology Certificate Program

NORTHERN NEW MEXICO COLLEGE’s Film and Digital Media Arts (FDMA) program is proud to announce the launch of the sUAS (drone) Technology certificate program.

The program provides participants with a comprehensive education in sUAS technology for both industrial and creative applications, and prepares them to test for the FAA 107 Remote Pilot Certification which is required for the commercial operation of sUAS.

The use of small unmanned aircraft systems in creative film, television, and marketing applications has grown exponentially in recent years, and more recently professionals in geoscience fields are discovering dynamic ways to employ them for data collection for monitoring natural processes. Drones offer new modalities to observe dynamic global behavior in fields ranging from; water management to forestry/agriculture, and atmospheric sciences.

The course will be led by Northern’s commercially experienced and licensed Film and Digital Media Arts faculty. Registration is open now for the spring 2019 semester. Space is limited.
