Albuquerque, NM: Rio Grande Nature Center State Park and the Friends of Rio Grande Nature Center will be offering new volunteer training for 2019 for five consecutive Fridays beginning February 8th, as well as monthly continuing education opportunities throughout the year.

New volunteers will learn about the Rio Grande bosque ecosystem and their role in supporting the Park’s mission, to preserve and protect the Rio Grande bosque, to educate the public about the Rio Grande ecosystems, and to foster positive human interactions with those systems.

Attendees must become members of the Friends of the Rio Grande Nature Center ($15-30), complete an application, pass a background check, and pay a $20 materials fee. Space is limited; those interested in becoming volunteers should call (505) 344-7240 (the Park) or (505) 343-1373(the Friends’ office) and speak with Paula, the Friends’ Volunteer Coordinator, by January 31st.
