New Mexico Department of Transportation and Star Paving Company will begin roadway reconstruction and intersection safety improvements on NM 599 at Via Veteranos in Santa Fe. The project will eliminate direct left turns from Via Veteranos approaches and through movements crossing NM 599. A lane-separator system will be installed to reduce the complexity and number of conflicts at this location. Drivers will still be allowed to make left turns from NM 599 onto Via Veteranos from each direction.
Starting Monday April 1st – Via Veteranos Road will be CLOSED at NM 599, NM 599 Frontage Road and West Alameda. Traffic can use South Meadows to access NM 599 & NM 599 Frontage Road. Traffic can also use Paseo Nopal to access NM 599 and Calle Abajo to access NM 599 east and west frontage roads.
NM 599 northbound and southbound lanes will have one lane closures Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This project is scheduled to be completed in mid-June 2019; weather permitting.
Star Paving Company of Albuquerque, New Mexico is the contractor for the project. The NMDOT would like to thank you for your patience during this safety improvement project.
