The Joy of Math @ Northern New Mexico College The Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival

STEM Santa Fe is pleased to announce that for the first time the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival (JRMF) is coming to Española on Friday, May 17, 2019. It will be held on the campus of Northern New Mexico College.
Since first held at Google in California in 2007, this festival has successfully sparked the imagination of students and teachers alike to the joy and beauty of mathematics all over the world.
STEM Santa Fe has brought this festival to New Mexico for the first time in 2017 and has been holding in annually in Santa Fe.
This year STEM Santa Fe is holding a second festival at Northern New Mexico College (NNMC), specifically for Española Middle School students.
100 students from Carlos F. Vigil Middle School in 7th and 8th grade, chosen randomly, will learn, through puzzles, games , and activities not typically seen in the classroom, of the fun side of math.
In addition, there will be a tour of NNMC campus with focus on STEM, while 45 STEM professionals arrive on campus to volunteer to run the festival. More information is available at www.stemsantafe.org.
