Caballo Lake: Julissa Lawell, age 12, of Las Cruces caught a 19.5-inch walleye and a 15-inch white bass Apr. 28. She was using a crank bait.

Cochiti Lake: Jianna Brown, age 3, of Albuquerque caught an 8-ounce bluegill and her brother Donovan, age 10, caught an 8-ounce crappie May 5. They were using minnows.

Conchas Lake: Landon Wilson, age 4, of Las Cruces caught his first fish, a 12-inch largemouth bass May 4. He was using worms on his Shakespeare Spider-Man combo.

Cowles Pond: Greyson Gonzales, age 4, of Santa Fe caught his first fish, a rainbow trout, May 2. He was using his new Avenger combo with a Pistol Pete.

Dennis Chavez Park Pond: Hunter Mckinnon, age 9, of Clovis caught a 5-pound largemouth bass Apr. 30. He was using PowerBait.

Eagle Nest Lake: Sue Finley of Eagle Nest caught a 20-inch, 3-pound rainbow trout May 2. She was using a nymph grape, salmon peach PowerBait mix from the bank.

Elephant Butte Lake: Steve Henke from Bernalillo caught several walleye at Elephant Butte Apr. 29, including two at 24-inches and 22 inches. The white bass were active as well; it was an early morning bite in 6 to 8 feet of water on 3-inch curly tails.

Laguna Del Campo: Ted Archuleta, age 78, of El Rito caught three 21-inch rainbow trout May 1. He was using a silver Kastmaster. Aaliyah Gallegos, age 10, of Santa Fe caught a 22-inch and a 21-inch rainbow trout while using PowerBait on May 1.

Roswell Kids Pond: Austin Terry, age 4, of Roswell caught a 24-inch catfish May 5. He was using chicken liver.

Seven Springs Brood Pond: Hailey Martinez, age 5, of Los Alamos caught and released a 25-inch rainbow trout May 2. She was using a black leech pattern under a bobber. Mateo, Maycie, Marcus and Maliah Sanchez, ages 6, 10, 4 and 5 respectively, caught a limit of trout May 5. They were using salmon eggs.

Ute Lake: Sam Schwope of Clovis caught a 16-inch crappie May 3. He was using minnows.

Conchas Lake: Jim McElroy, age 71, Phil Lyons, age 68, and Steve Watkins, age 68 of Clovis caught their limit of walleye ranging in size from 16 to 23 inches Apr. 27. They were using green, pepper flake jigs and Rapala SR5 Shad Raps.

Cabresto Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Charette Lakes: Fishing was fair using PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout.

Cimarron River: Stream flow near Cimarron on Monday morning was 71.9 cfs and the river was murky. Fishing was slow to fair using red San Juan worms, red zebra midges and brassies for trout. Best reports came from anglers working the bottom. Fishing at the Gravel Pit Lakes was very good using worms, salmon eggs and garlic PowerBait on the bottom. Many limits reported. Clayton Lake: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait for trout. A few catfish and small walleye were caught by anglers using worms. We had no reports on other species.

Conchas Lake: HOT SPOT FOR BASS: Fishing was rated as very good to excellent by anglers using minnows, worms, tubes, senkos, buzz baits, crank baits, spinner baits, jerk baits, jigs and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was good using minnows, worms and grubs for white bass and crappie. Fishing was good using minnows, curly tail grubs, sassy shad and crank baits for walleye. Fishing was good using cut bait and liver for catfish. Fishing was good using worms and small nymphs for bluegill.

Costilla Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Cowles Ponds: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout.

Coyote Creek: Fishing was fair using worms and PowerBait for brown and rainbow trout.

Eagle Nest Lake: Fishing from boats was very good using spinners and PowerBait for rainbow trout. A few were also caught by anglers fishing from the bank. Fishing for northern pike was good using PowerBait, large streamers, spinners and spoons. The best pike reports have come from anglers fishing in the Six Mile area. Fishing for perch has picked up some for anglers using worms and fishing the northwest side of the lake. The boat docks are scheduled to be put in place on May 9.

Eagle Rock Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, spoons and Fire Balls for trout.

Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Gallinas River: Fishing was fair to good using worms for trout.

Hopewell Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Lake Alice: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout.

Lake Maloya: Fishing was good using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. A few were also caught by anglers using Pistol Petes.

Los Pinos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Maxwell Lake 13: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait and Kastmasters for trout.

Monastery Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.

Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 639 cfs. Fishing was slow to fair using worms for trout.

Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 175 cfs. Fishing was fair using copper John Barrs, PowerBait and worms for trout. Fishing at the hatchery pond was good using PowerBait.

Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge was 1,850 cfs. Fishing was slow.

Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday morning was 78.1 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Rio Mora: Stream flow on Monday morning was 185 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Rio Pueblo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Penasco was 250 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing was slow to fair using PowerBait, Pistol Petes and Kastmasters for trout.

Shuree Ponds: Closed for the season.

Springer Lake: Chris Brashear of Springer reported catching four northern pike ranging in size from 20 to 32 inches May 6. He was using paddle tail swim baits.

Storrie Lake: Fishing was good using salmon peach PowerBait for trout.

Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Ute Lake: Fishing was good using jigs, tubes, crawdads, senkos and jerk bait in shallow water for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using minnows, curly tail grubs and small jigs for crappie. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits in 12 to 15 feet of water for walleye. Fishing was fair to good trolling crank baits for white bass. Fishing was good using stink bait, night crawlers, hot dogs and liver for catfish. The surface temp was in the low 60s.

Abiquiu Lake: Good news for anglers. Water levels have risen sufficiently to open the boat ramp. Fishing was fair to good using tubes, creature baits, senkos and crank baits for smallmouth bass. Fishing was slow to fair using bottom bouncer rigs, curly tail grubs and minnows for walleye. We had no reports on other species.

Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 1,950 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Albuquerque Area Drains: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bluewater Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using PowerBait and spoons for trout. Fishing was fair using cut bait, liver and hot dogs for catfish. Fishing was slow to fair using water dogs and deep running crank baits for tiger muskie.

Brazos River: Fishing was good using small copper John Barrs for trout.

Canjilon Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 2,960 cfs and 1,770 cfs respectively. Trout fishing was slow.

Cochiti Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using minnows for crappie. A few catfish were caught by anglers using liver and stink bait. We had no reports on other species.

El Vado Lake: Fishing was fair to good using worms, small jigs and tubes for a mixed bag of perch, brown trout and smallmouth bass. We had no reports on other species.

Fenton Lake: HOT SPOT FOR TROUT: Fishing was excellent using PowerBait, salmon eggs, mouse tails, Pistol Petes, green and black leech patterns, Kastmasters and small crank baits for trout. Mario Rivera reported that he and sons Michael and Marcos caught a good number of trout on May 4. They were using salmon eggs, mouse tails, Pistol Petes under a bubble and Panther Martins.

Heron Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait and worms from the bank for rainbow trout. We had no reports on other species. The water was murky and rising.

Jackson Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez near the town of Jemez on Monday morning was 362 cfs and fishing was slow. Fishing on the San Antonio and East Fork was good using green copper John Barrs and worms for brown trout. Trout fishing on the Cebolla was good using worms, copper John Barrs, San Juan worms and Fire Balls.

Laguna del Campo: Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, Kastmasters and PowerBait for trout.

Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Manzano Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using assorted PowerBait for trout. We had no reports on other species.

McGaffey Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Navajo Lake: Fishing was good using jerk baits, spinner baits, curly tail grubs, tubes, senkos, jigs and crank baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using spinnerbaits, crank baits and swim baits for northern pike. Fishing was good using minnows and small plastic grubs for crappie. Fishing was fair for anglers using worms, PowerBait, spoons, spinners and crank baits for trout.

San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

San Juan River: Stream flow on Monday morning was at 408 cfs. The water remains murky, but fishing has picked up some. Fishing through the Quality Water section was slow for some but fair to good for others using San Juan worms, Big Macs, wooly buggers, red annelids and bright egg patterns. Trout fishing through the bait waters was good using worms and PowerBait.

Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, Fire Balls, spinners and leech patterns for trout.

Tingley Beach: Fishing at the Youth and Central ponds was fair using PowerBait, worms and Fire Balls for trout. We had no other reports.

Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Alumni Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bear Canyon Lake: Fishing was fair using worms and small jigs for crappie. Fishing was fair using liver and stink bait for catfish. We had no reports on other species.

Bill Evans Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Caballo Lake: Fishing was good using curly tail grubs, minnows and jigs for crappie. Fishing was very good using minnows, crank baits and grubs for walleye. The Lawell family from Las Cruces reported good fishing last weekend. They caught around 35 white bass and one walleye. They were using silver and silver and blue crank baits. Fishing was fair to good using liver and cut bait for catfish. Fishing was slow to fair using crank baits, spinner baits, jerk baits and minnows for largemouth bass. We had no reports on other species.

Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was good using minnows, crank baits, curly tail grubs, Gulp minnows and tubes for a mixed bag of crappie, white bass and walleye. Fishing was good using jerk baits, spinner baits, crank baits, senkos, tubes, jigs and swim baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing was good using liver, night crawlers and cut bait for catfish. The surface temp was in the low to mid 60s.

Escondida Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Gila River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 127 cfs. Fishing on the forks was good using small green streamers and bead head nymphs for trout.

Glenwood Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Lake Roberts: Fishing was slow to fair using PowerBait and worms for trout. Fishing was fair using worms and stink bait for catfish. We had no reports on other species.

Percha Dam: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Quemado Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout.

Rancho Grande Ponds: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout.

Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte Monday morning was 189 cfs. Fishing on the river above Elephant Butte was good using liver, homemade dough bait and carp cut bait for catfish. We had no other reports.

Snow Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout.

Young Pond: The pond remains closed for cleaning and repair.
