Northern New Mexico College Registration for Spring Now Open

Registration for the Spring 2020 semester at Northern New Mexico College is now open for new and continuing students. While classes begin January 21, students are encouraged to register as soon as possible in order to get the classes they need, receive financial aid, and order books and course materials. 
Prospective students interested in starting classes for the Spring are also encouraged to register, but must first apply to Northern by completing an online application. New or transfer students will also need to provide high school transcripts or proof of High School Equivalency, transcripts for any dual credit or college courses taken, and test scores from the ACT, SAT, or COMPASS text if taken within the past two years. Students who do not have test scores can test for free at the college. Northern’s admissions office is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, December 20 to help students through the process. The deadline for degree-seeking students to apply to Northern is Monday, December 30. 
Northern offers several associate and bachelor degrees, as well as certificate and career training programs for both aspiring and experienced professionals. For the Spring 2020 semester, Northern’s holistic RN-BSN program nursing courses will be offered fully online to allow greater flexibility for the working nurse. Northern also introduced two new and one improved certificate program in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management, and Hotel, Tourism, and Restaurant Management. Tuition and fees for part-time students are $198.55 per credit hour and $2,382.60 for full-time students. Financial aid options are available for degree-seeking students. 
Community members interested in taking classes for leisure or personal interest are also encouraged to apply by January 16.Students taking six credits or less of art classes are eligible for Northern’s community rate of $100 per credit hour. Students age 55 and up can take one three or four credit non-art class for $150.00 per semester. 
Finally, Northern continues to offer several continuing education classes in welding and the heritage arts. Continuing education courses are taught at various days and times with low and no-cost options available. Continuing education students do not need to complete an application, but will register via the continuing education coordinator at (505) 747-5477.
