The Santa Fe Film Office today announced it has been named one of MovieMaker’s Best Places to Live and Work as a movie maker in 2020, ranking third out of 20 smaller cities and towns. MovieMaker determined the winners using surveys, editorial research on tax incentives and recent productions, and personal visits to most of the locations on the list. The full list of winning cities and towns is below.
“We’ve been in the top three for five years in a row. With Albuquerque ranked as number one in the larger city category it shows the industry has embraced New Mexico as a major production hub. Not only do we have top notch local crew, above the line, talent and incentive program, we are very accessible and you just do not find that combination everywhere. Bottom line, productions just like being in Santa Fe,” says Jennifer LaBar-Tapia, Film Liaison for the Santa Fe Film Office.
“We’re thrilled about the new and returning cities and towns on our list of creatively thriving places for movie makers to do great work. This year, we decided to move Los Angeles and New York City to the Hall of Fame of Best Places to Live and Work as a Movie Maker, which opened up the list to richly deserving new communities that are creating their own great film legacies,” said MovieMaker editor-in-chief Tim Molloy.
