God’s Encouraging Word of the day

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

1 Corinthians  10:31

This verse seems very straightforward, almost too easy to understand even. Of course God loves it when we praise him and we thank him for the delicious food and drink we have. Although when looked at in a wider view this verse is talking about freely giving up not just the food and drink but anything we enjoy to help others.

We glorify God when, out of love for him, we lay down our rights, our freedoms, in eating or drinking or whatever in order to do what is most loving toward others, either for the “progress and joy of their faith” (Philippians 1:25), or that they may be saved.
