“For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate”
Romans 7:15
This verse is talking about sin. The million dollar question is that if we don’t want to sin then why do we still choose to?
We sin because it’s easier than walking in obedience. Even when we don’t want to sin, there is a war inside of us. The Spirit wants to obey but the flesh wants to do its own thing.
We don’t want to think about the consequences (sometimes we simply don’t) so we find it easier to dive right into the grime and mire that sin is.
Sin is fun and enjoyable to the flesh although it comes at a high cost…”The wages of sin is death.”
Despite it all there is hope: because the wages of sin is death Jesus came down and died so that we didn’t have to.
In Christ there is forgiveness for past, present, and future sins. Those who repent (change of mind that leads to a change of lifestyle) and put their trust in Christ are forgiven and given a clean slate before the Lord. That’s good news!
This is called redemption by the grace of God. Just as there are many chapters and verses in the Bible that call out sin and judgment, there are many on forgiveness.
The Lord wants you to know that you can start again, your sins are tossed into the ocean of oblivion. We need only to repent and put our trust in the blood of Christ.
God Bless You
