Santa Fe, NM – This year’s Bike-To-Work Week events in Santa Fe are in full swing this week, offering stellar riding experiences for bicyclists of all ages. Events are detailed on the new, user friendly website at WWW.BIKETOWORKSANTAFE.COM.

Santa Fe County leadership has officially challenged the City of Santa Fe on Friday, May 19th at 4:30PM to join elected officials and staff on their bicycles for a police escorted ride from the County Administration Building on Grant Street to the Railyard Park for live music and giveaways including a chance to win a new metro-cruiser bicycle sponsored by CIGNA.

City Councilor Joseph Maestas, who heads up the City‘s Bicycle Trails Advisory Committee and has a passion for transforming bicycling in Santa Fe, responded to the challenge on behalf of the city, saying, “Bike-to-Work Week is more than a celebration of commuting by bicycle, but an acknowledgement of the tremendous courage and team work needed to plan, fund, design and build world class bicycle trails and improvements.”

He added, “The soon to be completed underpass at St. Francis and Cerrillos is a perfect example of where we will continue to fight for investments that encourage you to ride with safety and convenience in Santa Fe.”

Each day starting on Saturday May, 13th bicyclists will find a new adventure to share with fellow riders.

As in years past, Bike-To-Work week shares a variety of events including the Santa Fe Century on Sunday, May 21st and the weekend Outside Bike-&-Brew event at Railyard with a selection of rides for all throughout the area.

Bike-To-Work Week events will showcase Santa Fe’s world-class, IMBA Silver Designated trails, entertain riders and encourage people to pedal up! We hope to see you and your bicycles all week long.
