In Basic Services Upgrade, City Rolls Out Clearer, Faster Utility Bills

New bills are a wealth of info, continue major upgrades to water, recycling systems

Santa Fe, NM – As the City of Santa Fe continues to make improvements to the basic services it provides to Santa Feans, including real-time water monitoring via mobile or home computers, citywide installation of new, more efficient and more accurate water meters, curbside combined recycling with larger carts, and more, the next step is an improved and more efficient billing process.

The new bills make information more accessible and easier to read and understand, and will be delivered an average of three days faster than previous bills, giving Santa Feans more time to make their payments and another tool to manage their utility use.

Mayor Javier M. Gonzales said, “We don’t take our eye off the ball when it comes to improving basic services, and this fits right in with existing efforts to balance the budget, clean up our parks, and fix our streets. In just a few short years we’ve made some major progress in both customer service and efficiency, but every step we take forward saves the taxpayer money, so we’ll keep pushing to do better.”

The new bills will begin hitting mailboxes this week.
