Abiquiu Lake: Carol Bevel of Tijeras caught a 29-inch, 13-pound, 2-ounce, channel catfish June 2. She was using a bluegill pattern square bill crank bait.

Bluewater Lake: Brandon Atkins of Albuquerque caught and released three tiger muskie May 28. They measured 25, 38, and 42 inches. He was using a Cotton Cordell Super Spot. Maria Rodarte of Albuquerque caught and released a 38-inch tiger muskie June 1. She was fishing from shore and using a gold spoon. JP Gonzales, age 13, of Williams, Arizona, caught and released a 30-inch tiger muskie June 2. He was using bait. Donald Fairbanks of Kotzebue, Alaska caught a 42-inch, 17-pound tiger muskie June 1. He was using a hot dog.

Caballo Lake: Brianna Van Sickler, age 15, of Albuquerque, caught three catfish May 28. She was using chicken liver.

Chama River: Alicia Martinez of Los Alamos caught and released a 24-inch rainbow trout May 28. She was fishing near the town of Chama and using a custom tied fly.

Cochiti Lake: Cindy Weiper of Albuquerque caught a 28-inch walleye May 30. She was trolling a floating Rapala. Jeremy Ebbing of Albuquerque caught a 24.25-inch, 6-pound 10-ounce carp May 31. He was using corn. Donovan Trujillo, age 9, of Albuquerque, caught a 21.25-inch, 3-pound 2-ounce catfish June 1. It was his first catfish and he was using minnows.

Conchas Lake: Joshua Sped, age 13, of Albuquerque, caught a 2-pound white bass May 28. He was using shrimp. Todd Castle of Albuquerque caught a 5-pound largemouth bass June 3. He was using a Texas rigged senko.

Elephant Butte Lake: Victor Rose, age 71, of Las Cruces, caught a 25.75-inch, 6.25-pound walleye May 30. He was using a white curly tail grub.

Green Meadow Lake: John Peppin of Hobbs caught a 24-inch blue catfish and a 20-inch channel catfish May 29. He was using shrimp and cut bait.

Hopewell Lake: Lan Frazier, age 10 and Wes Frazier, age 13, of Espanola, each caught several nice rainbow trout from 18 to 20 inches June 2. The were using spinners and Pistol Petes.

Navajo Lake: Krystle Hanifin of Albuquerque caught a 19-inch 4.1-pound smallmouth bass May 31. She was fishing in Francis Canyon and using a whacky rigged green senko. Jared Fishburn, age 15, of Farmington, caught a 27-inch northern pike June 1. He was using a Rapala.

Rio Grande River: Stephen Baca of Pena Blanca caught a 24 7/8-inch, 5-pound, 6-ounce walleye May 30. He was using cut bait.

San Juan River: Diego Silva of Belen caught and released a 20-inch rainbow trout May 30. He was fishing the Braids and using a size 20 red annelid.

Chama River: Mike Smith of Albuquerque caught a 25-inch, 6-pound, rainbow trout May 27. He was fishing the river in Chama and using a spinner.

Laguna Del Campo: Wailea Gallegos, 12, of Santa Fe, caught a 17-inch rainbow trout May 27. She was using a worm.

Maxwell Lake 13: Andy Biller and Chuck Biller of Albuquerque and Rob Biller of Longmont, Colorado, caught several rainbow trout ranging from 16 to 21 inches May 26. They were using Panther Martins and flatfish.

Quemado Lake: Josh Miller of Albuquerque caught a 41.5-inch tiger muskie May 26. He was using a silver spinner bait.

San Juan River: Joseph Pacheco, age 5, of Albuquerque caught a 14-inch rainbow trout May 19. He was using a Fladen lure. Daniel Gallegos, age 8, of Albuquerque caught a 13-inch rainbow trout May 19. He was using salmon eggs. Riana Gallegos, age 8, of Albuquerque, caught a 15-inch rainbow trout. She was using peach PowerBait.

Seven Springs Brood Pond: Diego Dominguez, age 11, and Donovan Dominguez, age 5, of Albuquerque caught 7 rainbow trout including one that measured 20 inches on May 26. They were using PowerBait.

Charette Lakes: Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, PowerBait, and Fire Balls for rainbow trout.

Cimarron River: River access though Cimarron Canyon has been closed due to a major fire in the area.

Clayton Lake:  Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait, worms, and spoons for trout. Fishing was good using worms for bluegill. Fishing was good using worms and liver for catfish. We had no reports on other species. The Annual Trout Derby will be held June 9 and 10. For more information, call the park office at (575) 374-8808.

Conchas Lake: Fishing was good using tubes, senkos, jigs, and jerk baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Most of the fish caught were small. Fishing was fair using tubes, swim baits, bottom bouncer night crawler rigs and curly tail grubs for walleye and white bass. Fishing was good using poppers, worms and small grubs for bluegill. Fishing was fair to good using liver and homemade dough bait for catfish. The surface water temp was in the low 70s.

Costilla Creek: Stream flow below Costilla Dam on Monday morning was 81.7 cfs. We had no reports from anglers.

Cowles Ponds: Closed until further notice due to extreme fire danger.

Coyote Creek: Fishing was good using Fire Balls and worms for trout. Thomas Kirby reported fishing as very good as he caught and released four rainbow trout ranging from 8 to 14 inches in just 2 ½ hours. He was using copper John Barrs and pheasant tail nymphs.

Eagle Nest Lake: The lake has been closed to boating but remains open for bank fishing. Fishing from the bank was very good using worms, salmon eggs and small spoons for perch. Fishing was fair using PowerBait, spoons, spinners and worms for rainbow trout.

Eagle Rock Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Pistol Petes, and Panther Martins for trout.

Gallinas River: Fishing was fair to good using worms and bead-head prince nymphs for trout.

Hopewell Lake: Fishing was very good using spinners, Pistol Petes, and worms for trout.

Lake Alice: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Lake Maloya: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, Pistol Petes, gold Kastmasters, gold Panther Martins, bead-head wooly buggers, and bead-head prince nymphs for trout.

Los Pinos River: Fishing was fair to good using bead-head hares ears, worms, and Fire Balls for trout.

Maxwell Lake 13: Fishing was good using Fire Balls, PowerBait, Panther Martins, flatfish, and Kastmasters for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Monastery Lake: Fishing was very good using Pistol Petes, spinners, PowerBait, and Fire Balls for trout. The lake will close at dusk to all fishing on Wednesday, June 6 due to extreme fire danger.

Morphy Lake: The park has been closed due to extreme fire danger.

Pecos River: The river and its tributaries above the town of Pecos on the Santa Fe National Forest have been closed until further notice due to extreme fire danger.

Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 46.1 cfs. Trout fishing was good using poundmeisters, San Juan worms, small Kastmasters, and PowerBait.

Rio Grande: Stream flow on Monday morning at the Taos Junction Bridge was 234 cfs. Fishing was good using elk hair caddis, micro mays, chamois leeches, San Juan worms, mop flies, small spoons, spinners, and night crawlers for brown and rainbow trout. Fishing for smallmouth bass was slow but a few were caught by anglers using spoons and spinners. We had no reports on other species.

Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Valdez was 18.8 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Rio Mora: Closed until further notice due to extreme fire danger.

Rio Pueblo: Stream flow near Penasco on Monday morning was 7.99 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using bead-head hares ears, copper john Barrs and custom tied flies for trout. Estevan Montoya reported catching and releasing 10 to 15 trout. He fished near the Penasco Sipapu area and was using hand tied deer hair emergers.

Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing was fair using Fisher Chick spinners, gold Panther Martins, Pistol Petes, and PowerBait for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Shuree Ponds:  Closed for the season.

Springer Lake: Fishing was fair to good using Rat L Traps, cut bait, and Gulp minnows for northern pike. We had no reports on other species.

Storrie Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls, garlic cheese, and worms for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Ute Lake: HOT SPOT FOR BLUEGILL: Fishing was excellent using worms for bluegill. Fishing was good using crank baits, bottom bouncer night crawler rigs, jig and leech, jig and curly tail grub, and jig and minnow combinations for walleye. Fishing was good using crank baits, jerk baits, tubes, and senkos for smallmouth bass. Several largemouth bass were caught by anglers using top water lures and soft plastic baits. Fishing for white bass slowed down, but a few were caught by anglers trolling crank baits. Fishing was good using minnows, road runners and curly tail grubs for crappie. Fishing was good using punch bait, chicken liver and homemade dough baits for catfish. The surface water temp was in the mid 70s.

Abiquiu Lake: Fishing was good using tubes, senkos, jerk baits, soft swim baits, crank baits, Roboworms, Rooster Tails, curly tail grubs, and wooly buggers for smallmouth bass. George Torres of Stanley reported catching several smallmouth on dark colored crank baits. The fish were very shall and biting very aggressively. Fishing was good using jig and grub and jig and worm combinations, crank baits, spoons, Roboworms, and minnows for walleye. The fish were scattered between 10 and 30 feet. Fishing for crappie was good using white jigs. Fishing was fair using homemade dough bait, punch bait, crank baits and liver for catfish. We had no other reports.

Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 635 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Albuquerque Area Drains: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bluewater Lake: Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, jerk baits, spoons, in-line spinners, and hot dogs for tiger muskie. Fishing for trout and catfish was slow.

Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Canjilon Lakes: Closed by the U.S. Forest Service until further notice. The area may reopen later this year.

Chama River: Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 740 cfs and 954 cfs respectively. Trout fishing above and below El Vado was good using prince nymphs, weighted wooly buggers, Kastmasters, night crawlers, Fire Balls, and PowerBait for brown and rainbow trout. We had no reports from below Abiquiu.

Cochiti Lake: Fishing was fair to good using minnows and small jigs for small crappie. Fishing was slow to fair using sassy shad, swim baits, and crank baits for white bass. Fishing was fair using crank baits, spinner baits, jigs, senkos, and tubes for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was slow to fair using minnows, jigs, crank baits, and Rooster Tails for northern pike and walleye. Fishing was fair using corn for carp. A few catfish were caught by anglers using liver and cut bait.

El Vado Lake: Fishing was good using crank baits, jerk baits, tubes, Panther Martins, swim baits, and worms for smallmouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using various bass lures, spinners, and PowerBait for rainbow and brown trout.

Fenton Lake: Closed until further notice due to extreme fire danger.

Heron Lake: Fishing was good trolling silver Syclops spoons and Panther Martins and using green and orange and salmon peach PowerBait for rainbow trout and kokanee salmon. We had no reports on other species.

Jackson Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Jemez Waters: Closed until further notice due to extreme fire danger.

Laguna del Campo: Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, Super Dupers, small spinners, and PowerBait for trout.

Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Manzano Lake: Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, PowerBait, and Fire Balls for trout.

Navajo Lake: Fishing was good using jerk baits, curly tail grubs, senkos, worms, tubes, crank baits, and chatter baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using swim baits, spinner baits, jerk baits, and crank baits for northern pike. Crappie fishing was slow with just a few caught by anglers using small jigs and grubs. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits for rainbow trout and brown trout. Fishing for kokanee was slow with just a few caught by angler trolling deep with spinners. Fishing was good using worms for perch.

San Gregorio Lake: Closed until further notice due to extreme fire danger.

San Juan River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 640 cfs. The flow will be increased starting the late evening of June 5, with the release increasing by 200 cfs every two hours until reaching a peak of 2,000 cfs mid-day Wednesday, June 6. The release will then be held for two hours, and then begin ramping down at the same rate, returning to the base release in the early morning hours of June 7. Fishing through the Quality waters was good using small red annelids, small bead-head pheasant tail nymphs, fore and afts, RS2s, ant patterns and foam beetles. Trout fishing through the bait waters was good using jerk baits, Kastmasters, San Juan worms, copper John Barrs, chamois leeches, and Fire Balls.

Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing was very good using PowerBait and Fire Balls for rainbow trout. The Kids Fishing Pond will close at dusk to all fishing on  Wednesday, June 6, due to extreme fire danger.

Tingley Beach: Fishing in the Central and Youth ponds was good using liver, homemade dough bait, hot dogs and worms for catfish. Fishing in the Bob Gerding Catch and Release Pond was slow.

Trout Lakes: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait and Pistol Petes for trout.

Alumni Pond: Fishing was fair to good using chicken liver, hot dogs, and worms for catfish. We had no other reports.

Bear Canyon Lake: Fishing was good using hot dogs and liver for catfish. Fishing was fair using PowerBait, wooly buggers, and Pistol Petes for trout. Fishing was fair using small jigs for crappie. We had no other reports.

Bill Evans Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Caballo Lake: Fishing was good using sassy shad, rooster tails, curly tail grubs, minnows, Flicker Shad and Wally Divers for white bass, walleye and crappie. Fishing was very good using liver, blood bait, night crawlers and homemade dough bait for catfish. We had no other reports.

Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was good using sassy shad, minnows, crank baits, jerk baits, spinners, curly tail grubs, and spoons for white bass. Fishing for walleye was fair to good using minnows, sassy shad, spoons, curly tail grubs, and crank baits. Fishing was fair using minnows, and small jigs for crappie. Fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass was good using senkos, tubes, chatter baits, jerk baits, top water lures, creature baits, and crank baits. Fishing was good using cut bait, minnows, and liver for catfish.

Escondida Lake: Fishing was fair to good using chicken liver, homemade dough bait, hot dogs, and worms for catfish. We had no other reports.

Gila River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 11.5 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Glenwood Pond: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait for trout.

Lake Roberts: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Percha Dam: Fishing was fair to good using liver and cut bait for catfish. We had no other reports.

Quemado Lake: Fishing was fair using jerk baits and spinner baits for tiger muskie. Fishing for all other species was slow.

Rancho Grande Ponds: Fishing was good using hot dogs and liver for catfish. We had no other reports.

Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte Monday morning was 1,850 cfs. Fishing was very good using liver, homemade dough bait, cut bait, and night crawlers for catfish. Fishing was slow to fair using minnows and curly tail grubs for walleye and white bass. We had no other reports.

Snow Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout.

Young Pond: Fishing was slow for all species. A few catfish were caught by anglers using worms.

Alto Lake: Fishing was good using worms, homemade dough bait, PowerBait, and hot dogs for catfish. Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait and Pistol Petes for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Bataan Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Black River: Stream flow at Malaga on Monday morning was 25.1 cfs. Fishing was slow for all species.

Blue Hole Park Pond: Fishing was good using liver, worms, and hot dogs for catfish.

Bonito Lake: Closed until further notice by the city of Alamogordo due to fire damage. The lake is scheduled to reopen in August 2018.

Chaparral Park Lake: Fishing was good using homemade dough bait, liver, and stink bait for catfish. We had no other reports.

El Rito Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Eunice Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using worms and chicken liver for catfish.

Green Meadow Lake: Fishing was very good using liver, hot dogs, and worms for catfish. We had no other reports.

Greene Acres Lake: Fishing was good using chicken liver and homemade dough bait for catfish.

Grindstone Reservoir: Fishing was very good using PowerBait for rainbow trout. We had no reports on other species.

Ruidoso River: Stream flow on Monday morning at Hollywood was 4.90 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Santa Rosa Lake: Fishing was good using Robo worms, tubes, senkos, curly tail grubs, flukes, crank baits, and top water lures for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using minnows, sassy shad, and crank baits for walleye. We had no other reports.

Sumner Lake: Fishing for walleye was fair to good using crank baits, sassy shad, minnows, jig and grub combinations and jig and night crawler combinations. Fishing was good using jerk baits, top water lures, finesse worms, crank baits, and tubes for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and white bass. We had no other reports.
