The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Fe/Del Norte is the oldest provider of after school programs in Northern New Mexico. From August-May of each year, we operate our award-winning After School Program at Club sites,
Monday-Fridayfrom 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Our program for the 2019-2020 school year
begins Monday, August 19th.We provide programming to children on most school holidays and breaks, as well as in-service and parent/teacher conference days. Transportation is provided from some schools to our Clubs. (A minimum of ten (10) students attending the Club per school is required.)
Research has shown that kids who participate in after school programs have:
- Higher grades and test scores
- Improved attitudes toward school, higher expectations for school achievement, better work habits, and higher attendance rates
- Lower youth involvement in risky behaviors: drinking, smoking, using drugs, having sex, and becoming involved in violence
- Significant increase in positive behaviors: social and behavioral adjustment, better relations with peers, more effective conflict resolution strategies, and increased parent involvement
