Los Alamos County voters reject recreational general obligation bond

Unofficial results from the May 23, 2017 election were provided by the Los Alamos County Clerk’s office which showed that 7,383 voters cast their ballot; 3,446 in favor and 3,932 against.

Los Alamos County voters rejected $20 million general obligation bond that would have funded a multi-generational pool, golf course improvements, splash pad, softball field improvements and a Recreation Center. If passed, the bond would have been repaid from property taxes for the purpose of designing, acquiring, constructing, purchasing and improving recreation facilities, and would have added an additional $13.4 million to the budget from capital project funds with the intention of building or improving five recreation projects.
