Santa Fe Public Schools Announces Principal Appointment at Cesar Chavez Elementary School

Santa Fe, NMOn May 22, 2017 Santa fe Public Schools announced Carlos Lee as the principal of Cesar Chavez Elementary School.

Mr. Carlos Lee was born and raised in a rural town north of Corpus Christi, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Educational Administration from Corpus Christi A&M University-Corpus Christi. He served as a classroom teacher for 12 years and a school administrator for three years for the Corpus Christi Independent School District before moving to Santa Fe, NM. Mr. Lee’s experience with the Santa Fe Public Schools includes one year as a classroom teacher at Sweeney Elementary, six years as an assistant principal at César Chávez Community School, and two years as an assistant principal at Capshaw Middle School. His future goal is to pursue a doctoral degree in educational leadership.  

Dr. Veronica C. Garcia, superintendent of schools, stated, “Mr. Lee has proven to be a valuable member of the SFPS family. The school will continue to flourish under his leadership.” A parent meeting to meet the new principal will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at Cesar Chavez Elementary School.
