City Continues Working to Fill Jobs Critical to Improving Parks, Median Maintenance and Weed Control

17 citywide jobs: 2 downtown specific – 8 in median care – 7 at MRC

SANTA FE – In response to public concern, the City of Santa Fe this year budgeted extra resources to be invested in Parks and Medians maintenance, including everything from litter pickup and weed control to playground equipment maintenance and irrigation system repairs. Many of those new jobs have been filled, and every day there are workers joining our existing crews to increase our capacity to attack the weeds and trash that can accumulate in the more than 70 parks or along the hundreds of miles of trails and median the City maintains. But we’re not done yet, and we’re asking Santa Feans who are looking for an opportunity to come join our team.

The City is reaching out to the public once again to ask for continued help spreading the word about the opportunity to join a team targeting a demonstrated public need.

More broadly, the city has numerous openings in both seasonal and full-time positions, and information on open city jobs is always available at the City Website Jobs hub: http://www.santafenm.gov/job_opportunities.

Mayor Javier M. Gonzales said, “We’re actively tackling the challenges presented by more than 70 parks, hundreds of miles of world-class trails, and hundreds of miles of medians, and with these workers on board we will see progress soon. We’re still asking Santa Feans who are out there looking for work to come join our team and help our city live up to the potential beauty we all know is there.”
