Volunteers Needed-Opportunity Santa Fe Volunteer Fair

Santa Fe, NM –Opportunity Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) partnered to host a volunteer fair to help over thirty organizations share opportunities for community members to support organizations and youth in Santa Fe. The Opportunity Santa Fe Volunteer Fair will be held this Saturday, August 19th, from 11AM to 2PM at Sweeney Elementary School, 501 Airport Rd, in the auxiliary gym. At this event Santa Fe residents will find a variety of ways to give back to their community, as well as free food and raffle prizes – donated by local businesses.

The Volunteer Fair was spearheaded by the Birth to Career Collaboration’s Mentoring and Tutoring Collaborative Working Group, an initiative supported by the Santa Fe Community Foundation. When the need for volunteers first arose, the AmeriCorps VISTAs, who support the Birth to Career Collaboration and the Mayor’s Children Youth and Family Cabinet, began working with representatives from local organizations- SFPS, Girl’s Inc, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Communities in Schools, and Adelante- to host the event. With much appreciated help, the Opportunity Santa Fe Volunteer Fair received donations from: the Kakawa Chocolate House, Santa Fe Botanical Garden, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Trader Joe’s, Albertsons Market, and many more!
