Wood Gormley Elementary Earns National Blue Ribbon Award

Santa Fe, NM – Wood Gormley Elementary School has been designated an Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing School for 2017 by U. S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos. Wood Gormley Elementary is one of 342 schools in the nation and one of three schools from New Mexico to be recognized in 2017. This designation allows the school to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.

Representatives from Santa Fe Public Schools will receive the award at the awards ceremony on Monday, November 6 and Tuesday, November 7.

Dr. Garcia exclaimed, “The Blue Ribbon School designation is a much coveted award and is a feather in the cap of Wood Gormley Elementary School. This award is a reflection of the hard work and commitment to excellence of the staff and former principal Dr. Linda Besett who led the application effort. Congratulations for a job well done!”
