Santa Fe, NM: On Saturday, October 21, 2017, hundreds of students from SFPS Music Education Programs will flood Canyon Road during the Tenth Annual Historic Canyon Road Paint & Sculpt Out. Bands, choirs, elementary music troupes, pianists, and string orchestras will share their music in the company of Canyon Road artists and galleries. This is the 8th year SFPS Music Education programs have partnered with Canyon Road to bring student musicians to this historical event.
The Paint & Sculpt Out celebrates the generations of artists who have been creating paintings, pottery, jewelry and sculptures in the beautiful light of New Mexico.
Santa Fe Public Schools’ Music Education programs are a strong and vibrant core component of SFPS curriculum. Nearly 4,000 students in grades 4-12 choose band, choir, guitar, orchestra, or piano. Additionally, 100% of students in our elementary schools engage weekly in high quality music curriculum.
Music is alive and well in Santa Fe Public Schools! We invite our community to join us to support our young musicians, give them a cheer, and enjoy the wealth of youthful artistry that will be on display. All events are free and open to the public.
