Prayer for New Mexico at the Capital

Below is the Prayer said yesterday at the Capital

“Prayer for for New Mexico State Capital and Government”

It is a pleasure to be present with you to day and pray. Pastors like Government

leaders may not be few on words. Pastors enjoy speaking about God and what

He has done. One of the most beautiful and short addresses ever given by a

Government leader, was when our nation had experience great lost and was in

mourning, it was the Gettysburg address. And yet in prose Abraham Lincoln

penned and spoke a heartfelt speech in remembrance. And Abraham Lincoln

spoke of God in this powerful speeech.

Today the daughters and sons of New Mexico look up to God almighty and we

ask for a better tomorrow. We ask for the Lord’s kingdom to come upon this

important sphere of our lives. The following is a prayer we pray for regularly for

our Government – Let me share this short prayer with you:

Pray that God is ready to perform His Word.

We ask that the Lord Word arises.

Open our eyes and turn us from darkness to light.

And that The Lord will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for our government.

And we pray for anyone having authority over us in any way.

Pour out Your spirit on them and make Your Word known to them.

Cause them to be men and women of integrity concerning us, that we may led a quiet

and peaceable life, in all Godliness and honesty.

Cause the rains of Your Spirit to cover this land and revive Your work in the midst of

us. May Your glory be revealed and let Your Word stand forever! Amen.

In the Bible in the first book and chapter of Genesis 1:3-4 says

God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

God saw the light, and saw that it was good.

Later in the Bible in the Gospel of John speaks of Jesus 1:4-5:

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not

comprehend it.

In 2016 a news report titled The spark of life: Science and the Bible meets again. [1]

The article stated “Northwestern University scientists note tiny light flashes signaling

the moment of human conception are evocative of a larger, cosmic-sized truth

espoused by both science and the Bible.” We pray for those sparks of life that yet have

a voice and we pray they will be protected and allowed life for Almighty God. The bible

tells us For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all

to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

As we move to finishing let us hear from a great saint who came before us.

The prayers is known as The breastplate of Saint Patrick – portion

“Christ shield me today against poison, against burning, against drowning, against

wounding, So that there may come to me abundance of reward,

Christ with me,

Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me,

Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right,

Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down,

Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,

Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,

Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,

Christ in every eye that sees me,

Christ in every ear that hears me.”

We close with:

May we live up to the name, of Santa Fe.

May we remember, when we look up to the mountains, the Sangre De Christo.

May we walk in His ways always.

May you have an awesome day with the Lord.

Amen.
