It was a losing day for St. Michael’s in nasty weather that made the scene Tuesday at Christian Brothers Athletic Complex.

On the baseball field, the Horsemen fell to Robertson, and on the softball field, it was the same as the Lady Horsemen took a 15-0 District 2-4A loss in a mercy-rule 5-inning meeting with the Robertson girls.

It followed on the heels of a 16-0 setback in a non district contest against Los Alamos, and St. Michael’s has now dropped four of five while the Cardinals advanced to 6-4 overall.

The Lady Horsemen are home to neighboring rival Santa Fe High on Thursday in none district play with a 3:30 p.m. start.

The Santa Fe Indian School softball team is now off until starting 5-4A versus visiting Albuquerque Sandia Prep on April 10. But the Braves had one more win until the break, turning back Raton, 10-6, for their fifth win in a row, and which upped their record to 10-1 overall.

Snow and other nasty elements cancelled the second game of the scheduled non district doubleheader. Indian School was up 2-1 in the fifth, but the 3A Tigers answered with five of their own to grab a 6-2 lead. But back came the Braves with five of their own to retake the lead and maintain it.

Alexis Garcia was in the circle in relief for Indian School and yielded just one run over her two-plus frames.

Pecos and Mora had a real slugfest despite the elements, with the Panthers outscoring visiting Mora, 25-19, for their first victory of the season in five outings. Mora is 4-5.

The elements postponed the 2-4A contest between visiting Taos at Pojoaque Valley.
