Fenton Lake, Hyde Memorial and Morphy Lake State Parks Close Due to Extreme Fire Danger

By EMNRD
Officials of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, State Parks Division announce the closure of Fenton Lake, Hyde Memorial and Morphy Lake State Parks due to extreme fire danger.  The closure will be effective Monday, June 4th at 8 a.m. and these parks will remain closed until further notice.  The closure will coincide with a full public-access closure on the Santa Fe National Forest announced this week by the U.S. Forest Service.
Visitors who have reserved campsites at Fenton Lake or Hyde Memorial State Parks beginning Monday, June 4th should contact Reserve America at 1-877-664-7787 for refunds of pre-paid reservable campsites due to the park closures.
Thirty-one state parks remain open and reservations are available at many of these parks.  In addition, park visitors are reminded that most parks are under various types of fire restrictions. To learn more about state park fire restrictions, please visit www.nmparks.com.
