Southwest Fishing ReportAlumni Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Bear Canyon Lake: Fishing was good using cut bait, homemade dough bait and worms at night for catfish. Fishing was fair using worms for bluegill. We had no reports on other species.
Bill Evans Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using hot dogs, liver and night crawlers for catfish. We had no reports on other species.
Caballo Lake: Fishing was fair using sassy shad, curly tail grubs, tubes and crank baits for white bass. Fishing was good using night crawlers, liver and cut bait for channel catfish. We had no reports on other species.
Elephant Butte Lake: Night fishing was very good using liver, cut bait, shiners and shrimp for catfish. Fishing was good using curly tail grubs, crank baits, sassy shad, minnows and spoons for white bass. A few were also caught by anglers using top water lures. Fishing was good using top water lures, tubes, ned rigs, swim baits, finesse worms and crank baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing was good using worms for bluegill.
Escondida Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
Gila River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 72.4 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Glenwood Pond: Skeeter Miller, Jr. reported good fishing here this past week. He and his dad and little brother caught nine rainbow trout. He was using a Rooster Tail spinner while his brother and dad were using worms. A few trout were also caught by anglers using PowerBait.
Lake Roberts: Fishing was good using worms for bluegill. Night fishing was fair to good using liver and night crawlers for catfish. We had no other reports.
Percha Dam: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Quemado Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
Rancho Grande Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte Monday morning was 2,030 cfs. Fishing was very good using shiners, cut bait, night crawlers and shrimp for channel catfish. Fishing was fair using minnows, sassy shad and chartreuse curly tail grubs for white bass. We had no reports on other species.
Snow Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week
Young Pond: Fishing was slow for all species.
