NMDA Country Store returns for 27th year at New Mexico State Fair

By NMDA

The New Mexico Department of Agriculture’s Country Store will make its return for the 27th consecutive year at the New Mexico State Fair this fall. The store has become a staple of tradition for fairgoers since it first opened in 1991, offering a variety of New Mexico-made agricultural products provided primarily by food and beverage companies from around the state.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the state fair Thursday, Sept. 6 to Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Agriculture Building located west of the Manuel Lujan commercial building and south of the animal barns. Fairgoers may purchase a variety of tasty items including chile products, chips, spice mixes, baked goods, jams and jellies, candies, ciders, nuts and much more at the country store.

New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture Jeff Witte said that NMDA is proud to partner with the Rio Rancho Rotary Club to present the New Mexico Taste the Tradition Country Store at the 2018 New Mexico State Fair.

With hundreds of New Mexico grown and made products available for purchase in our Country Store, there is something for everyone,” said Witte. “I invite all fairgoers to stop by, sample and support New Mexico agriculture by purchasing their favorites for themselves and others.”
