Turquoise Trail Charter School—the oldest Charter School in New Mexico with 29 years of academic excellence—is expanding with a new free charter middle school opening on Santa Fe’s Southside, as well as additional Kindergarten through 3rd Grade classes. The lottery for enrollment is open through March 5th. Interested parents should go to the website at TurquoiseTrailCharterSchool.org or call 986-4000.
“Our goal at TTCS has always been to provide smaller, personalized learning environments to foster success among our students,” said Dr. Ray Griffin, Head of School at Turquoise Trail Charter School. “Our expanded class offerings will allow us to bring that philosophy to additional students to empower them through student-centered learning and put them on track for a bright future.”
The middle school will serve grades 6–8 and will be limited to 200 students to maintain a low student:teacher ratio and provide one-on-one learning opportunities in a challenging academic environment. With an emphasis on digital arts and film, TTCS students can experience a well-rounded education in a unique environment.
With the addition of expanded Kindergarten through 3rd Grade classes, TTCS will be offering outstanding arts programs, exceptional athletic opportunities, and a safe learning environment, as well as the small class sizes to additional elementary students.
“With many schools experiencing overpopulation, individualized learning is hard to find, and students miss out on opportunities as a result,” added Griffin. “We encourage everyone looking to enhance the educational experience for their children to take a look at Turquoise Trail and apply for our enrollment lottery.”
The school is holding an Open House on February 5 th from 5:30–7:30pm at 13 San Marcos Loop(across from the Southside library on the corner of Jaguar and Country Club).
