30th Anniversary Celebration at Brantley Lake State Park

By NM Parks

Save the date for Brantley Lake State Park’s 30th Year Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 18, 2019.  This event is an opportunity for the public to enjoy the park as well as learn more about the park.  Planning stages for this event are just beginning and we are requesting local community members or community organizations to contribute with the following plans:

  • Outfitters who would like to set up a booth for the day.
  • Kayaks for educational purposes. We plan to provide a training opportunity for participants who have never been in a kayak but would like to test one out before purchasing.
  • We will also be offering a Kayak Challenge for the more experienced kayakers!
  • Bands to play in the evening (5 – 7 p.m.).
  • Food trucks to set up for the day.

The community can look forward to a fun filled day of activities including: an opening ceremony, a dam walk, a dam tour, educational booths and programs, outfitter booths, a kayak challenge, food trucks, and music in the park.  However, only park officials, dignitaries, and members of the Friends of Brantley Lake will be allowed to go on the dam tour to see the dam interior, so become a Friend of Brantley Lake today!

For more information or if you are interested in contributing to the event, please call Leila Haver at (575) 457-2384 or Allison Leimer at (575) 887-5516.

$5 per vehicle day-use fees or camping fees for those who are staying at the park apply.
