SANTA FE – New Mexico Supreme Court Justices C. Shannon Bacon and David K. Thomson were sworn into office today.
Chief Justice Judith Nakamura separately administered the oath of office to each the justices during a ceremony in the Supreme Court courtroom. Family and friends of the justices attended along with Justices Barbara Vigil and Michael Vigil and court personnel. A public investiture will be held later.
The governor appointed Justices Bacon and Thomson to vacancies created by the retirement of Justices Charles Daniels and Petra Jimenez Maes.
Justice Bacon has served as a judge on the Second Judicial District Court since 2010. Justice Thomson has been a judge on the First Judicial District Court since 2014, and served on the district court from March 2010 to November 2010.
