Catches of the week

Alto Lake: Andrea Medina, age 8, Alejandro Medina, age 5, and Isaiah Medina, age 7, of Clint, TX caught their limits of rainbow trout Feb. 9. They were using Rooster Tails and night crawlers.
Elephant Butte Lake: Happy Johnson of Santa Fe caught and released a 7.54-pound largemouth bass and a 4.26-pound largemouth bass Feb 9. He was using a crank bait in 47-degree water. 
Navajo Lake: Anfernee Prentiss caught a 6-pound, 10-ounce brown trout Jan. 29.
San Juan River: Bella Clark, age 11, of Santa Fe caught and released several rainbow trout on her first ever fly-fishing trip Feb. 4. She was using bunny leeches and egg patterns. Zach Avila, age 4, of Grand Junction, Colorado caught three rainbow trout measuring 18, 19 and 20 inches and a 19-inch brown trout Feb. 2. He was using worms.

Northeast Fishing Report

Cabresto Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Charette Lakes: Closed for the season.
Cimarron River: Stream flow below Eagle Nest on Monday morning was 2.31 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Clayton Lake:  Closed for the season.
Conchas Lake: Our only reports from here this past week were of strong winds and no reports from anglers.
Costilla Creek: Mark your calendar to check this one out next spring.
Cowles Ponds: Check this one out in the spring for some great trout action.
Coyote Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Eagle Nest Lake: Fishing for perch was good using worms and ice jigs tipped with worms. The best reports came from anglers fishing in the Six Mile area. Fishing was slow to fair using worms, PowerBait, corn and ice jigs for rainbow trout.  We had no reports on northern pike or kokanee. Wyatt Fyock and friends, Nico, Danny and Lukas caught 97 perch on Feb. 6. They were using jigs tipped with worms.
Eagle Rock Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Gallinas River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Hopewell Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Alice: Ice thickness as of Monday was 11 inches. We had no reports from anglers.
Lake Maloya: Ice thickness as of Monday was about 16 inches. Fishing was good using PowerBait, corn, homemade dough bait and ice jigs for trout up to 14 inches.
Los Pinos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Maxwell Lake 13: Closed for the season.
Monastery Lake: We had no reports from anglers. The lake is closed to ice fishing.
Morphy Lake: Closed for the season.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 21.5 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 35.1 cfs. Fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and San Juan worms for trout.
Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge was 355 cfs. Fishing was slow to fair using wooly buggers, leeches, copper John Barrs and spoons for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Rio Hondo: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Mora: Stream flow on Monday morning was 3.92 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: Peter Romero reported that the lake remains completely frozen over. No fishing at this time.
Shuree Ponds: Closed for the season.
Springer Lake: On ice free days, fishing has been rated as fair using spoons for northern pike.
Storrie Lake: Fishing was fair to good using Fire Balls and PowerBait for trout.
Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Ute Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Northwest Fishing Report

NW

Abiquiu Lake: Fishing was slow for all species and fishing pressure was very light. The lake level is very low, and the concrete boat ramp is completely out of the water.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 212 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: Trout fishing on the Albuquerque, Albuquerque (South), Belen and Peralta drains was good using PowerBait, worms, Fire Balls, copper John Barrs and bead head prince nymphs. We had no reports on other drains or on other species.
Bluewater Lake: As of Monday, the lake remains closed to fishing due to dangerous thin ice conditions. For updated conditions, call the state park office at (505) 876-2391.
Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Canjilon Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 26.9 cfs and 138 cfs respectively. Trout fishing below Abiquiu was fair to good using red copper John Barrs, PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs. We had no reports from below El Vado.
Cochiti Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
El Vado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. For ice updates, call the state park office at (575) 588-7470.
Fenton Lake: Fishing was very good using Kastmasters, corn, meal worms, ice jigs, salmon eggs and PowerBait. The ice thickness on Monday was about 15 inches.
Heron Lake: The ice thickness as of Monday morning was 9 inches. We had no reports from anglers. For updates, check the state park web site or call the state park office at (575) 588-7470.
Jackson Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez near the town of Jemez on Monday morning was 20.5 cfs. Dave Menicucci reported very good fishing on the Jemez this past week. Trout were hitting green mop flies and green PowerBait. We had no reports from the other streams.
Laguna del Campo: Closed for the season.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Manzano Lake: Trout fishing was fair for anglers using PowerBait and worms.
Navajo Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Fishing pressure was extremely light.
San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
San Juan River: Stream flow below Navajo Lake on Monday morning was 284 cfs. Fishing through the Quality Water area was good using egg patterns, olive and white bunny leeches, little princess nymphs, emergers and bead head pheasant tail nymphs. Through the bait waters, trout fishing was fair using worms, night crawlers, Fire Balls, PowerBait, streamers and egg patterns.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Tingley Beach: Fishing was very good using homemade dough bait, Berkley power eggs, PowerBait, wax worms and salmon eggs for trout. Jesse Navarro of Los Lunas reported a good day fishing here this past week. He landed 4 rainbows between 13 and 16 inches in just two hours. He was using PowerBait. We had no reports on other species.
Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Southwest Fishing Report

Alumni Pond: Trout fishing mid-week was very good using Velveeta cheese, corn, bead head prince nymphs and copper John Barrs. Action slowed on the weekend.
Bear Canyon Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Bill Evans Lake: Fishing was fair to good using spoons, PowerBait, homemade dough bait and salmon eggs for trout. We had no reports on other species. Chase Gutierrez reported decent fishing for trout this past week using red and white Daredevles, Rooster Tails, Gulp dough bait and natural scent PowerBait.
Caballo Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was good using crank baits, swim baits and jigs for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Anglers using crank baits also reported catching a few white bass. Fishing was fair to good using cut bait for catfish. We had no other reports.
Escondida Lake: Fishing was very good using worms, homemade dough bait, PowerBait, Fire Balls and spoons for trout.
Gila River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 205 cfs. Our only report this week came from Chase Gutierrez whose sole catch was a carp caught while fishing for catfish and using a piece of chicken.
Glenwood Pond: Fishing was good using PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout.
Lake Roberts: Fishing was good using PowerBait, worms, homemade dough bait and salmon eggs for trout.
Percha Dam: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Quemado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rancho Grande Ponds: Fishing was good using PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs for trout.
Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte Monday morning was 2.80 cfs. Fishing was good using Fire Balls, PowerBait, worms and homemade dough bait for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Snow Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Young Pond: The pond has been closed for cleaning and repair and is expected to be closed until sometime in February.

Southeast Fishing Report

Alto Lake: Fishing was very good using Rooster Tails, night crawlers and PowerBait for trout.
Berrendo Creek: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, Kastmasters, Super Dupers and salmon eggs for trout.
Bataan Lake: Fishing was very good using worms, Fire Balls and PowerBait for trout.
Black River: Stream flow at Malaga on Monday morningwas 7.1 cfs. Fishing was good using Fire Balls, PowerBait and copper John Barrs for trout.
Blue Hole Park Pond: Fishing was good using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout.
Bonito Lake: Closed until further notice by the city of Alamogordo due to fire damage. It appears now that the lake will be out of commission until the spring of 2020.
Bosque Redondo Lake: Fishing was fair using worms, PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout.
Bottomless Lakes: Fishing was fair using PowerBait for trout.
Brantley Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using jigs, spoons and crank baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. We had no reports on other species.
Carlsbad Municipal Lake: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, Kastmasters and Pistol Petes under a bubble for trout.
Chaparral Park Lake: Trout fishing was fair using PowerBait and salmon eggs.
Corona Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.
El Rito Creek: Fishing was good using small Kastmasters, Joe’s flies, PowerBait, worms and Fire Balls for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Eunice Lake: Fishing was slow with just a few trout caught by anglers using PowerBait.
Green Meadow Lake: Fishing was fair using PowerBait, garlic cheese and homemade dough bait for trout.
Greene Acres Lake: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout.
Grindstone Reservoir: Fishing was good using PowerBait, homemade dough bait, power eggs and salmon eggs for trout. George Schlemeyer of Ruidoso reported catching his limit of trout while using orange PowerBait power eggs.
Jal Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Van: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls, worms and spoons for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Oasis Park Lake: Fishing was fair using PowerBait, homemade dough bait, worms and salmon eggs for trout.
Pecos River: Stream flow below Sumner Lake on Monday morning was 30.1 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Perch Lake: Fishing was very good using homemade dough bait, PowerBait, Fire Balls, Joe’s flies and streamers for trout.
Ruidoso River: Stream flow on Monday morning at Hollywood was 12.8 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using salmon eggs for trout.
Santa Rosa Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was light.
Sumner Lake: Fishing was fair using jigging spoons and blade baits for walleye and catfish. A few largemouth bass were caught by anglers using crank baits. We had no reports on other
