Senators highlighted the critical importance of counting underrepresented communities and addressing New Mexico’s unique data collection challenges

U.S. Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich welcomed U.S. Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham to New Mexico for a series of meetings and visits across the state where they discussed the importance of ensuring an accurate count for the upcoming 2020 Census. Earlier this year, Udall and Heinrich sent a letter inviting Dillingham to visit New Mexico. During the visit, the senators emphasized the critical importance of taking strong measures to count underrepresented communities and address New Mexico’s unique data collection challenges.
