Tomorrow is Father’s Day, if you add that to the hustle and bustle of everyday life you might just get something different then the celebration you were hoping for. We here at Santa Fe Today figured we would lend a hand with five fun and easy ways to spend Father’s Day!
Make your dad breakfast
It doesn’t have to be a surprise, It doesn’t have to have five courses and It doesn’t have to be expensive. If I’m being totally honest it doesn’t even have to taste good (although that would be a bonus). The main idea is to rustle up the family so they can rustle up a breakfast filled with the love Dad deserves.
Take dad to a movie
Looking back at my childhood, between work, school drop offs and pick ups, sporting events and all the in between‘s… Watching a movie with dad on the weekdays was a stretch to say the least. Thank God and have no fear…the weekend is here. It’s a perfect time to let Dad pick out the movie of his choice and enjoy it as a family.
Take a Drive
Yeah I know! You’re probably thinking “ driving while wasting gas and time in a hot car “ just kidding. The main idea of going for a cruise is to have all the family in a small space, as to have a great conversation while spending good quality time together. It’s time to turn that air conditioner on, make a pit stop to grab some cold drinks and take a drive. I’m confident that dad‘s face will be grinning the whole time.
Have a barbecue
It’s barbecue Time! Now I’m not saying you have to invite all the neighbors. All you really need is charcoal briquettes, matches, whatever meat you’re planning to cook and of course don’t forget the Dad. There’s nothing quite like an evening barbecue to celebrate the most influential man you’ll forever have the pleasure of knowing.
Pray as a family
God says “ For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them“. What better way to spend Father’s Day then with our Heavenly Father himself. Our dads play such an integral role in our lives. They love us unconditionally. They work to keep a roof over our heads, food on the table, clothes on our back and most importantly, they show us the right steps to take as we move forward in life. I believe sitting down as a family to talk with God is the most important thing you can do on Father’s Day. Taking the time to thank God for the ability to wake up every morning and see your Dad is a blessing by itself, doing it as a family just makes it that much more of a HAPPY FATHERS DAY.
From our family to yours happy Father’s Day and God bless!
