Catches of the week

Navajo Lake: Glenn Patrick Mares, age 10, and his family of El Rancho caught 16 kokanee salmon using snagging hooks Dec. 1.
Tiger Pond: Adan Shockey, age 10, of Flora Vista caught a 22-inch rainbow trout using PowerBait Nov. 30.
The following report came in late, but is definitely worth mentioning:
Bluewater Lake: Joshua Garcia, age 17, of Colorado Springs, Colo. caught and released a 36-inch tiger muskie using cut carp Nov. 25.

Northeast Fishing Report

Cabresto Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Charette Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Cimarron River: Stream flow near Cimarron Monday morning was 30.9 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Clayton Lake: The lake is closed to fishing and boating until March 1, 2020.
Conchas Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Costilla Creek: Stream flow near Costilla Monday was 25.4 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Cowles Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Coyote Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Eagle Nest Lake: Closed to boating and ice-fishing due to recent weather conditions that have produced unsafe lake conditions. The lake is currently closed to all watercraft including canoes, kayaks and inflatables as well as all types of motor boats. A layer of ice has formed over portions of the lake. These conditions prohibit boating or ice fishing activities. It is anticipated that ice conditions should improve soon. Park staff will continue monitoring ice conditions and will advise when the lake is safe for ice fishing.
Eagle Rock Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Gallinas River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Hopewell Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Alice: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Maloya: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Los Pinos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Maxwell Lake 13: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Monastery Lake: Fishing for trout was fair to good using salmon eggs and PowerBait.
Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos Monday morning was 34.2 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using worms and nymph flies.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery Monday morning was 38.3 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge Monday morning was 387 cfs. Fishing for trout was good using Panther Martin spinners, nymph flies and emerger flies in the afternoons.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow Monday morning near Valdez was 13.2 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Mora: Stream flow Monday morning was 14.6 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow near Penasco Monday morning was 9.28 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing for trout was fair to good using Rapala Countdown lures and PowerBait.
Shuree Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week. Fishing is open on the Valle Vidal, including Shuree Ponds, July 1-Dec. 31.
Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Storrie Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Ute Lake: Before last week’s storms hit, fishing for white bass and walleye was fair to good using blade baits in 35 to 40 feet of water. We had no reports on other species. The main lake watercolor was clear and the water temperature was 50 degrees.

Abiquiu Lake: Fishing pressure was light. We had no reports from anglers this week. Due to low water levels anglers are advised to use four-wheel drive vehicles to launch boats and watch for obstructions on the water.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec Monday morning was 190 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains:Fishing for trout was fair to good using salmon eggs.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing for tiger muskie was fair using cut bait.
Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Canjilon Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 506 cfs and 521 cfs respectively. We had no reports this week from below El Vado Lake. Fishing for trout below Abiquiu Lake was slow using salmon eggs.
Cochiti Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
El Vado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fenton Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Please remember that anglers are allowed to harvest only two cutthroat trout per day within the regular five-fish limit.
Heron Lake: Fishing for kokanee salmon was fair to good using snagging hooks near the dam.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez River near the town of Jemez Monday morning was 17.9 cfs. Fishing for trout above and below Battleship Rock was fair using PowerBait, salmon eggs and worms.
Laguna del Campo: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Manzano Lake: Fishing for trout was good using corn-colored PowerBait and salmon eggs.
McGaffey Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Navajo Lake: Fishing for kokanee salmon using snagging hooks was good around the dam. Kokanee salmon snagging season is open from Oct. 1 – Dec. 31. We had no reports on other species.
San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
San Juan River: Stream flow Monday morning was 577 cfs. Fishing for trout in the quality waters was good using small midge pattern flies and Blue Winged Olive flies. Fishing the lower section of river for trout was good using Baetis pattern flies and white leech pattern flies.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing for trout was good using PowerBait and salmon eggs.
Tingley Beach: Fishing for trout was good using white PowerBait and salmon-peach PowerBait.
