San Juan River: Audrey Kim of Los Angeles caught a 21-inch brown trout in the bait waters section of the river using a Yongwing fly Jan. 1.
Santa Rosa Lake: Andres Alvarado of Santa Fe caught two big walleye over 21-inches using jigging spoons Jan. 5.

Hopewell Lake: The gate to the camping area is closed. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Maxwell Lake 13: The lake is closed to fishing and boating until March 1, 2020.
Monastery Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos Monday morning was 27.7 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery Monday morning was 44.1 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge Monday morning was 465 cfs. Fishing upstream from Pilar was fair to good using PowerBait.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow Monday morning near Valdez was not measured due to ice. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Mora: Stream flow Monday morning was 4.58 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow near Penasco Monday morning was not measured due to ice. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Shuree Ponds: Fishing is closed in the Valle Vidal, including Shuree Ponds until July 1.
Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Northwest Fishing Report

Abiquiu Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week. Due to low water levels anglers are advised to use four-wheel drive vehicles to launch boats and watch for obstructions on the water.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec Monday morning was 201 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: Fishing for trout was fair to good using salmon eggs and PowerBait.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing for trout was fair. The winter trout stocking plan is to stock 6,000 catchable size rainbow trout per month from November through March.
Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Canjilon Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 108 cfs and 76.6 cfs respectively. Fishing for brown trout below El Vado Lake was fair to good using nightcrawlers and flies. Fishing for trout below Abiquiu Lake was good using light tippet with small bead head nymph flies. Anglers should expect closures on the Rio Chama below Abiquiu Dam until March as a fish habitat improvement project is currently underway. Cochiti Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Fenton Lake: The lake is closed due to dangerous ice conditions. When the lake opens to ice fishing, remember that only two cutthroat trout are allowed to be harvested per day within the regular five fish limit.
Heron Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez River near the town of Jemez Monday morning was 17.3 cfs. Fishing for trout was good below Battleship Rock using worms and green mop flies.
Laguna del Campo: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
McGaffey Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

San Juan River: Stream flow Monday morning was 462 cfs. Dry fly fishing for trout in the quality waters was fair to good using small midge and midge cluster patterns. Fishing for trout in the quality waters was good using red midge larva patterns, pupa patterns and egg patterns. Fishing for trout in the bait waters was fair to good using flies and salmon eggs. Water clarity was about one-foot visibility.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Tingley Beach: Fishing for trout was good using garlic scented PowerBait, white PowerBait worms and homemade dough bait.
Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
