Santa Fe County is seeking two board members to serve on the County Valuation Protest Board. One board member must demonstrate experience in the field of property valuation. The second board member does not require experience in property valuation. The Valuation Protest Board consists of volunteers appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to examine and rule on property tax valuation protests. It is comprised of two members and two alternates. Protest Board members are appointed for two year terms by the Board of County Commissioners. Members shall not be employed by the State of New Mexico, a political subdivision, or a school district, shall not hold an elected public office and must be registered to vote in Santa Fe County.
Members of the board and alternates when serving as voting members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, shall be paid as independent contractors at the rate of eighty dollars ($80.00) a day for each day of actual service.
