It’s spring, the trees are greening, flowers are blooming and the Santa Fe River is flowing. The River’s first spring pulse is set to begin Thursday, April 23rd. Increased flows are being released in compliance with 2020-2021 Living River Target Flow Hydrograph. The hydrograph is tentatively accepted by Santa Fe River Commissioners, and will be officially approved once in-person meetings reconvene after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. In addition to providing seasonal water flows along the Santa Fe River this strategic pulse will provide water for the newly-planted riparian vegetation along the banks of the channel between the Ricardo Street Pedestrian Bridge and Don Jose Loop where construction was just completed.
