Looks like the secret’s out: Santa Fe is a small town with big appeal, offering the best of two worlds, with outdoor space, a tight-knit community and access to a nearby metro area.
A recent national survey by Ipsos, a global market research firm, found that the COVID pandemic has shifted many American’s priorities about how and where they want to live. Since March, 42% of respondents had either relocated or considered relocating, and rural areas, small cities and suburbs were their top choices. Only 6% were considering a move to a big city.
The results of that survey list Santa Fe number 3 among the top 8 Up-and-Coming Small Cities Close to Major Metros. People who were hesitant to leave behind the cultural and social attractions of a big city were looking for places that offered the best of both worlds and Santa Fe fit the bill.
